This link provides details of a consultation paper about transparency produced by the President of the Family Division. You may find it interesting.

These changes are well overdue and will do much to open up the court system. Too often we hear the most awful stories that impact greatly on the lives of our children and families and we have no redress. I will be attending, if that’s possible, the 2nd reading and debate on 7 October. I have asked my MP to facilitate this and it would be great if lots of us were there to support this bill.

There are so very many issues with family courts and the personnel involved, from Judges, recorders, legal advisers, clerks. But, I do know that there are precedent cases…. my case was one of them. Those case are anonymised to an extent and in the child’s name. That case, after 6 years in county court, went to the Royal Court of Justice where two High Court Judges sat. Taking it to high court meant I had to have a solicitor who knew the law and had the courage and knowledge to do that. There are child care solicitors that fail to advise correctly and cause awful difficulties in my experience. The difference it made was highly beneficial as the ‘pack’ in the local courts whose behaviour I would never wish to replicate or witness again… coupled with judges who did not know the law was a very frightening experience. Especially when a small child’s life is involved.
As one of the other supporters, I strove to work with those groups who jointly made a difference by their personal hard work and dedication (Family Rights Group, Rights of Women, Grandparent Association and AMICA) without them I believe I would have buckled. Only after 7 and a half years did this case end. I was in court every 3 months routinely, and in addition at any whim that took their fancy.
I have spoken where I could and to a few, very tolerant High Court Judges and one from the House of Lords.
There were so many examples of terrible practice that I could speak about. I can in a different way also talk about the awful practice of social workers who make up ‘law’ to suit themselves and fail to follow the law that is law. In other words they blatantly break the law but are rarely challenged in court. Families have not a hope in some cases of having the case put accurately before the court with wild gossip type reports being produced with no evidence to substantiate their claims…
enough. How can I help ? I will join you to do all that I can to achieve Justice for Families

In all other aspects of the Justice System, cases can be made reportable by the Judge if he/she feels that it is in the interest of the public as a source of reference, or as a precedent. A case, in all it’s judgement and reasoning, would then be made public, on the internet, for all to see. This is never the case in the Family Courts and therefore no-one can use any cases to refer to in order to defend themselves. This is entirely unnacceptable.

there are children in the walsall foster system who are been mistreated
and the reason they got my babies again is just cus i put the discharge in too early
    2 half yrs on
so when we supposed to put in for discharge
    when our babies are 18
and cus im emotional when i see my babies
yes i am when i see mistreatment on my children
walsall council have owned up to everything
on my case and they still get away with it

there are some much needed changes here, especially the one about grandparents not needing assessment to apply for kinship if they have had no problems bringing up children before
